WebsitePolicies free plan: what the free basic policy and its banner include

Last reviewed November 4, 2026

Quick answerThe free route is one basic policy for one website, with the cookie banner, but the compare table marks it not for commercial use and there is no trial. Complianz has a free WordPress plugin.

WebsitePolicies free plan: what is free

The WebsitePolicies free plan is one basic policy with one revision for one website or app, with the cookie consent banner and Google Consent Mode v2, and its compare table marks it not suitable for commercial use. There is no free trial. Starter, the first plan marked suitable for commercial use, is $59 a year, as read on November 4, 2026.

WebsitePolicies' banner and cookie policy pages say the generator is free, while its compare table marks the free basic policy "Suitable for commercial use: No", so a business site needs a paid plan.

Figures come from the compare table on WebsitePolicies' own pricing page. Both columns include the banner; neither includes cookie consent collection, which starts at Professional.

Is there a WebsitePolicies free trial?

No. The pricing, agencies, home and banner pages offer no trial. The landing page puts a no-card line beside its sign-up button, and that line describes starting an account, not buying a plan.

Treat the free basic policy as a way to see the generator, not as a trial of Starter.

The 7-day refund on a first purchase

In place of a trial, a new purchase is refunded in full if you ask within 7 days: "we will happily refund 100% of your purchase". You ask by contacting WebsitePolicies with your purchase details. The Terms provide no refunds after that window, and a refund of a renewal is at its discretion.

Plans renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date. For every paid price, see WebsitePolicies pricing.

Free banners elsewhere

Complianz Free is a plugin for one WordPress site, and its WordPress.org page says it includes a working cookie banner, automatic cookie scan, script blocking and a privacy policy generator. CookieYes Free covers one domain at up to 5,000 pageviews a month; see CookieYes free plan.

Pick Complianz for a free plugin on one WordPress site, or CookieYes for a Free plan on one domain. More options are in best free cookie consent banner. Free tools are information, not legal cover: each site owner is responsible for their own compliance, and a qualified lawyer answers whether a site needs a banner.
