WebsitePolicies review: four yearly plans, the cookie banner and where it stops

Last reviewed November 4, 2026

Quick answerWebsitePolicies fits a small site that wants its banner and policies from one vendor on one yearly bill, with no monthly plan and no trial. For monthly billing or geo-targeting, CookieYes fits better.

WebsitePolicies review: who it fits and what it costs

WebsitePolicies is a policy generator with a cookie consent banner, and it fits a small site that wants its banner and policies from one vendor on one yearly bill, from $59 a year on Starter, as read on November 4, 2026. It is priced per plan by the year, not per pageview, with no monthly plan and no free trial. This review reads WebsitePolicies' own pricing, agencies, banner and help pages and its Terms.

The table lists each plan in US dollars. For the plan-by-plan detail see WebsitePolicies pricing.

What the cookie consent banner does on each plan

The compare table marks the cookie consent banner and Google Consent Mode v2 as included on all four columns, the free basic policy too. You customize the banner in a dashboard wizard (appearance, layout and the link to your cookie policy), copy one block of code and paste it into the head of your site. The help center documents that paste for WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace and plain HTML, and describes no plugin or app of its own.

Script blocking works through two attributes on a script tag, a text/plain type and a data-category, with four categories: necessary, analytics, marketing and personalization. For Google Tag Manager the help center describes a downloadable template, and by default only the essential category is granted.

WebsitePolicies' banner page lists "Collect Consents" and says it records and stores cookie consents without naming a plan, while its compare table puts "Cookie consent collection" on Professional and Business only, so confirm which plan stores your visitors' choices before you buy.

Its public pages and help articles state nothing about Global Privacy Control, geo-targeting, IAB TCF, a pageview allowance or consent-log retention. The compare table's "Global privacy compliance" row is a different label from Global Privacy Control.

Where Starter falls short of Professional

Starter at $59 a year covers 1 website or app, with 3 policies of your choice and 10 revisions each. Professional at $99 a year covers 1 website or app with all policies and unlimited revisions, and adds the rows Starter lacks: cookie consent collection, the Cookies AI Copilot, the data subject request form, multi-language support and removable branding.

As WebsitePolicies words them, the Cookies AI Copilot sorts your cookies into categories and fills in missing details, and the data subject request form lets a person ask what data you hold about them. Its pricing page says policies come in 25+ languages; the banner's own languages are not stated.

WebsitePolicies' Starter card says "All premium features", while its compare table marks cookie consent collection, the data subject request form, multi-language support and removable branding as not included on Starter, so read the compare table, not the card.

Refunds, renewal and canceling

A new purchase comes with a 7-day refund. The pricing page says that if you are not happy with your policies over the next 7 days, "we will happily refund 100% of your purchase", and the refund policy asks you to contact WebsitePolicies within 7 days of the purchase. There is no free trial.

Plans renew automatically at the end of the billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date, and you cancel through account settings. After the refund window the Terms provide no refunds, and a refund of a renewal charged after you cancel is at the vendor's discretion.

Who should pick CookieYes, Termly or Complianz instead

Pick WebsitePolicies for one small site, or a few, that wants a cookie policy, other policies and a banner on a yearly bill; Professional when consent collection matters; the Agency Plan for a client portfolio. Compare it side by side in WebsitePolicies vs CookieYes.

Pick CookieYes for monthly billing per domain: CookieYes Basic is $10 a month per domain, billed monthly, and geo-targeting and Global Privacy Control start on Pro at $25 a month per domain, billed monthly (CookieYes's plans page).

Pick Termly for policies and a banner on a per-website plan: Termly Starter is about $10 a month per website billed annually, or $14 billed monthly (Termly's US price list), with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Pick Complianz for a WordPress-only site: Complianz Personal is $59 a year for one website, also with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
